Review of How About You... (2007) by Klei R — 21 Apr 2009
I would argue that this little movie from Ireland probably would never get made in the US. There's not much to it, but it's pretty lighthearted and leaves you feeling pretty good, although I'd say the end didn't seem to make sense in regards to the rest of the movie.
The movie is essentially a bout one sister who owns an old folks home, and while she's away tending to her sick mother over Christmas, she leaves the 4 wacky old folks with her sister, who apparently is not welcome at home (although they never say why). She turns this rough and tumble bunch into a cohesive group.
Everyone has a back story, and they all get to share them as part of the connection process. It's all very sweet and quite sentimental. There's really nothing here to offend anyone, but unfortunately, there's probably not much to remember either. It's just a little inoffensive Irish feel-good flick.
