Review of Houseguest (1995) by Dan O — 13 Mar 2008
Uh oh! Look out white America, Sinbad is in da house! In this one, Phil Hartman and his comically unique family can't tell that Sinbad is not actually Phil's childhood friend from camp, perpetuating the stereotype that all black people look the same to us whities.
Meanwhile, Sinbad has problems of his own while running from the some loansharks, perpetuating the stereotype that all black people are in debt. But can Hartman and Sinbad learn something from each other after all? (yes.
) This movie was pretty much a 90 minute commercial for McDonalds.
