As a remake of one of the greatest classics of all time, I don't think it's that bad. I mean they added some new styles to the formula which kinda took a few things away but I'll discuss that after I get the story out of the way.

The story is about a millionaire named Steven Price who gives five guests $1,000,000 dollars each in order to challenge them to see if they can survive his house that was once and insane asylum. Without fleeing in terror, they all have to stay in the terrors of the alive house that for some reason gives them gory scares instead of normal ghoulish frights like the original.

Now that we got the story out of the way, let's talk about those real differences. In the original, The main character was called Frederick Loren and not Steven Price-STRIKE 1. There were four guests and not five-STRIKE 2.

He did not give them a million dollars each! he only gave them ten thousand dollars each-STRIKE 3. This is my personal favourite flaw, all the ghoulish frights from the original like the scary wax models, the heads being chopped off and the skeleton from the wine cellar have now been replaced with tons of gore, computer generated ghosts, and really silly bloody violence-STRIKE 4.

Finally this is the biggest flaw of all. The house was not once an insane asylum. It's just a normal haunted house on a normal haunted hill. That's why the movie title is so called-STRIKE 5. That's a lot of flaws with this movie but at least they tried.

House On Haunted Hill gets a 6/10.
