Review of House on Haunted Hill (1999) by Rico H — 15 Oct 2013
A movie I recommend you watch once to formulate your own opinion. remake of a "classic" horror movie. follows the same storyline with subtle changes. the cast does a decent job of playing their roles (and while I believe Chris Katan was cast as comic relief I don't think he was the best choice for a horror film).
you felt every character come to life, and due to each characters personallity it kept you guessing to who was the real culprit behind the madness. also there are some good gore scenes and a few funny one liners (taye diggs line near the end for example) that make the movie enjoyable even to the biggest critics.
the movie tries to pay homage to the original and while it's not a "classic" of it's own it accomplishes just that.
