Review of House on Haunted Hill (1959) by Kyle E — 14 Jan 2009
My problem with "House on Haunted Hill", and yes I'm reviewing the 1959 version of the film, is that *spoiler* it isn't really a ghost story. There are ghosts running around and such, but you never once see one.
This is more of a revenge flick for Vincent Price, a man whom I do have nothing but the utmost respect for. Lightyears better then the remake from a few years back and it's awful direct to dvd sequel, the original does have some legit chills for it's time.
I'm a huge fan of the 50's and 60's horror macabre, so I enjoyed it. But take it for what it's worth, not a ghost story *End spoiler*.
