Review of House on Haunted Hill (1959) by Morten H — 12 Aug 2007
Oh, how I love love love these old classics. They just don't make 'em like this anymore... such a pity. Although it's hard to find this particular movie scary, the atmosphere and the gothic look and feel of it makes up for lost thrills.
Vincent Price is a mystery in himself and contributes greately to the success and drive of the plot. It seems to me that filmmaking used to be so much more about having a great time before, than it seems today, don't you find? Art for art's sake, not for money.
