Review of House of Wax (2005) by Dov D — 25 Apr 2013
When this movie first came out, I heard nothing but terrible things about it, so when I finally got around to watching it, I was extremely surprised. This movie had the potential to be so, so incredibly bad, but because it never took itself to seriously, and because of the different styles of filming, this film exceeded all of my expectations and then some.
I was skeptical of a cast almost entirely comprised of television actors staring in a horror flick, but they were all up to the task. Chad Michael Murray, Elisha Cuthbert, and Jared Padalecki (from One Tree Hill, 24, and Supernatural respectively) all were incredible and provided the television feel that a movie like this needed.
Bottom line, I'd recommend this to just about any horror fan, if not for any other reason than getting to see Paris Hilton brutally murdered.
