Review of House of Wax (1953) by Robbie H — 12 Aug 2007
One of Vincent Price's most infamous roles and thusly one of the truly great classics of the horror genre. The thing about these older movies is that there's something mythic about them, something poetic and - even - beautiful, that sadly cannot be found in horror films anymore.
Price's "price-less" performance, added to the untouchable plot and the wonderfully made props and scenery that almost becomes a character on its own, makes me wonder if such perfection will ever rise in the world of horror again.
