Review of House of the Dead (2003) by Robert F — 04 Oct 2007
Ok, coming off a sick video game I wasn't expecting the same story for the sequel but this was probably the most unrealistic movie from a storyline standpoint.
I don't mean how the zombies were created, fusing cells with blood to reanimate bodies is actually common in movies. I'm talking about how all the college kids turned into Rambo just like that with the asian chick becoming Bruce Lee complete with jeet kun do moves and such.
One second they're running from zombies, next they know exactly how to reload shotguns, hit their targets a mile away and can karate kick someone with such velocity you'd think Chuck Norris was fighting along with them.
I mean its all fine and dandy to watch but you have to sit back and go "that's totally not real.".
It also threw in action shots from the video game as an attempt to be cool, but the games storylines had nothing to do with the movie at hand so there was no point.
It was a watchable movie, don't get me wrong but I expected better. The Clint Howard curse lives on 2 out of 5.
