Review of House of the Dead (2003) by Djmk T — 03 Mar 2012
Not as wretched as some would have you beleive and in all honesty it's very watchable for a Boll film even if it's only based on the eye candy. It's not without his typcial bad movie traits such as the terribly uneven stylization and pacing but it does work as an adaptation of the source material.
The wooden performances, clunky dialogue and tacky, techno-scored action scenes are well tuned with the video game on which the film is based; the problem is that doesn't make for a good film. While guiltily entertaining it's still undoubtedly bad.
