Review of House of the Dead 2 (2006) by Kat G — 13 Feb 2006

[size=3][font=Century Gothic]Well this past weekend on Sci-Fi is seemed it was zombie Saturday. Resident Evil was on and many more. A new movie was on called House of the Dead 2. Of course I had to watch it.

Being that it was on cable versus DVD I'm sure there were some parts that were cut out to make it "acceptable" for tv. The DVD of this comes out next month. (which I think I'll be skipping.).

The plot was lame. A college professor (Sid Haig ) is trying to bring back the dead. He has a zombie contained that he belives holds the key in her blood. Well of course he ends up dying in the process of doing this. What happens next is a college campus becomes devastated by the zombies. A special team called A.M.S. along with special forces goes in to look for survivors and also to collect a blood sample from what they call a first generation zombie. They say if they can obtain it that they will be able to come up with a cure for the zombie infection.

The script seems to have been thrown into a blender and all the pages went flying. While there is decent talent in the movie it's not enough to pull the film from being way less than mediocore. Emmanuelle Vaugier (Saw II), Victoria Pratt (Mutant X, which she kicks serious ass in.) , Nadine Velazquez (My Name is Earl). Sure there's tons of zombies, shooting, explosions and a few funny lines but other than that the movie just was a zombie itself. It was generic and plain. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they made this movie, but the writers must have been on auto pilot or something cause it was just bad bad bad. If it hadnt been for my big bowl of popcorn and my puppy constantly biting my toe I would have more than likely fallen asleep. If you recorded this one I'd say delete it.. you won't be missing much.
