Review of House of Sand and Fog (2003) by Noah R — 23 Jan 2009

I'm generously giving it three stars because the cast did a stellar job with their roles, especially Kingsley. Unfortunately I couldn't get past the heavy-handed Oscar-bait filmmaking, not to mention the stunning stupidity and selfishness of the characters made it impossible for me to care about any of them.

This would've worked better as a misanthropic comedy as opposed to a self-righteous and forgettable melodrama.
