Review of House of Sand and Fog (2003) by Elli K — 13 Jul 2008
Very Requiem for a Dream-esque (punctuated by the Connelly dock shot toward the end). The direction is appreciably symbolic and deep, and the acting is charged enough to produce some of the most devastating scenes I've ever seen.
Its premise is what holds it back.
