Review of House of Pleasures (2011) by Ned S — 25 Mar 2012
Set at the turn of the 20th century, this is a fly on the wall drama about the final months of an up-market Parisian brothel, which is at times amusing, horrifying, intriguing, repulsive and seductive, but, despite the decadence on show, the banality of the situation is key and makes for an ultimately dull experience.
