Review of House of Games (1987) by Scott M — 05 Sep 2008
Lindsay Crouse is pretty subtle (read: boring) in this movie, but Joe Mantegna makes up for that subtlety. Typical Mamet dialogue, and the con game that goes on in this movie has clearly influenced con movies of the last 20 years.
Not Mamet's best, but it's a pretty damn good first film from a now-auteur.
