Review of House of Games (1987) by Bruce W — 11 Apr 2009
A razor sharp and brutal thriller, but what else could be expected from Mamet. His scrip well crafted with wonderful twists that I even enjoyed the more the second time I watched the film. The film has a way of sucking you into its world and in a way cons you into believing its tricks.
Even on a second viewing it was able to trick me some what. Mamet is a very under rated director and shows a visual flare, as well as a mastery of the written word. Terrific film.
