Review of House of Frankenstein (1944) by Murder C — 03 Mar 2008
Boris Karloff is finally back in a 'Frankenstein' movie, but this time he is not playing the monster. This time Boris is doctor Niemann who escapes from an asylum with his hunchback assistant Daniel (J.
Carrol Naish) and travels to the old ruins of Frankenstein's house to revive the monster (Glenn Strange). On his way he also encounter count Dracula (John Carradine) and the Wolf Man (Lon Chaney Jr.
). As you can tell this is a mash-up of many of Universal Studios movie monsters. The idea is just plain dumb and sadly the movie suffers for it, the script goes nowhere and everything just feels thrown into the mix.
"House Of Frankenstein" is just not a worthy sequel to any of the monsters series.
