While most Westerners were blown away by this movie, I notice Asians are less impressed (me included), and that is for a good reason: most Westerners have not been familiar with HK-TVB serials :p. While the scenes are indeed beautiful and the actors are pretty good compared to their HK-TVB colleagues back then, but in terms of script, storyline, and special effects, House of Flying Daggers isn't that advanced.
