A beautiful film. As usual with Yimou Zhang, the visuals were absolutely stunning. And the acting was fantastic. You could really feel the interesting dynamics and chemistry between the different characters.
The story, too, was fascinating. There were so many unexpected twists. I was so engaged wondering what would happen next. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, something totally different would come up.
My only complaint was that there was just too much sensuality. But nonetheless, it is a powerful and beautiful film.
