Perhaps the ending has more relation to reality if you're Chinese and have some greater cultural understanding of what's going on. Otherwise as with Hero it is a beautiful landscape holding really vibrant colours with lots of intricate martial arts in front of it.
Oh, and a bit of a love story too if you're into that.
