Things you can learn from watching wuxia pictures:
- People can fly if they train hard enough.
- Anyone who figures significantly in your life *has* trained hard enough.
- Physics are for chumps who don't train hard enough.
- The accuracy of a hurled weapon is directly correlated to the beauty of its flight path (and, as a corollary, the amount of speed effects on it).
- Beware of any beautiful natural scenery, particularly if you notice it's all of a particular monochromatic color scheme. It's only there to underscore the futility of battle as you duel to the death with someone important or fend off a lot of assassins.
- Bamboo forests allow you to do most anything you like. If Macgyver ever got loose in one of these things, forget about it.
- Falling in love only leads to suffering and death.
Well, they were right about the last one, at least. "House" is an excellent example of the genre, with some of the most beautiful cinematography you'll ever see, some masterful action sequences, and a plot that's engaging. Good stuff.
