I thought this film was simply stunning. The plot wasn't all that complex, but it really didn't need to be. Yimou Zhang clearly knew what he was doing, the sets were just beautiful. Colours played an important role in this movie as well.
Like most Chinese films, the fight scenes were breathtaking. Those dagger-throw sequences were just great. A good blend of romance and war, this film is definitely worth a watch.
