House of Flying Daggers {Shi mian mai fu} (2004): This romantic/action film is directed by Yimou Zhang (Hero, The Flowers of War). A beautiful experience, in all regards, as this film follows a love struck Police Captain who falls head over heels in love with a member of a rebel group as he frees her from prison and sets out on a journey with her.
Amazing fight choreography, set decoration was beautiful as the colors are so vibrant much like Hero, beautiful score composed by Shigeru Umebayashi, and a perfect story; give this film some much needed attention.
PG-13 Rating, 119 minute runtime, Mandarin Language with English Subtitles.
