Review of House of Flying Daggers (2004) by Kurt F — 03 Jul 2013
7/1/13 This film reminds me of an opera. Very simple story, but it is powerfully done. It feels like 2 separate films. In the beginning, it is like a B movie, cheesy Asian karate with weak acting. About half way through it becomes very serious and really picks up from there.
As mentioned in many other reviews, the scenery is quite beautiful. I'm not a fan of the "crouching Tiger" type fighting (it is incredibly unrealistic), but I was able to look past that and enjoy the film.
