Review of House of 9 (2005) by Kyle W — 02 Nov 2007
I have a strange attraction to this film. house of 9 is a twisted film about 9 strangers that get kipnapped and put in a house, and have no recollection of how they got there, and get put into a game of life and death with a reward of $5 million.
a plot almost similar to saw 2, this film is concidered a UK version of saw. I understand the acting is sub par and the plot isn't too deep or exciting, to me its the suspence and drama that builds up over the minutes and hours that pass in that house.
after each death the tension and emotion tends to intensify, and each contestant fends off to protect themselves. with the the first death being an accident and by the end turning into a murder spree, everyone believing someone is out to kill then.
the build up reminded me of japenese horror films such a ringu and ju-on. and at the end you were left satisfied. and the ending, wow. one of the best endings to a horror film i've ever seen. I thought the ending was brilliant.
