Review of House of 9 (2005) by Renzo V — 10 Apr 2014
"NINE STRANGERS TRAPPED IN A HOUSE. ONLY ONE WILL GET OUT... ALIVE".
- 'Big Brother' gone bad, that's a good way to describe the 2004 film 'House of 9'. I have a weak spot for stories like this. A desolated place. People in fear, who get killed one by one. Only one may survive. I must agree that this isn't the best movie I've seen. I'm not too enthusiastic about some of the camera techniques and the acting wasn't all that good, but I did enjoy it for the most part. With Dennis Hopper (Speed, Easy Rider), Kelly Brook (Piranha 3D, Ripper), Julienne Davis (Eyes Wide Shut). Who do you think will win the game?
Nine people wake up in a house that is completely locked down. There is dancer Lea (Brook), police officer Jay, rapper Al B, drug addict Shona, tennis player Claire, clothes designer Max, father Duffy (Hopper), musician Francis and his wife Cynthia (Davis). A voice over the speaker announces that they are being recorded by hidden cameras and microphones, as they have been chosen to participate in a twisted game: the last person standing leaves with 5 million dollars.
Tensions rise within the group of strangers as they discover that there is no way out of the house. Who can be trusted? And who will play the game?
