Review of House of 1000 Corpses (2003) by Bret B — 07 Oct 2009
I watched this for the 2nd time last night and fell asleep during the last third, so I'll sum up with my wife's comments (it was her first viewing). "He just ripped off Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "the Dr.
Satan stuff was the most interesting part" (even though it was a "hallucination"). In Rob's defense, he basically used a decent budget to blend his favorite parts of 70's exploitation and horror, edited in some psychedelic cut scenes, and threw in Sid Haig for good measure.
For the fans, by a fan. Best viewed in the middle of the night after coming home from a dive bar and slightly inebriated with a bowel of pizza rolls.
