Review of House of 1000 Corpses (2003) by Tania M — 08 Dec 2010
It's discusting, bloody, gross, vile and completely devoid of any propper script, dialect and it takes you absolutely no where.
In conclusion, House of a 1000 corpses succeeds as a horror flick.
Rob Zombie has definately gotten better after this debut, the sequel was so much more concrete. But for a first timer he did not do too bad a job of it, in the sense of directing. Where plot and dialect comes in, he failed miserably.
I'm certainly not saying that this is in any way a good film, but the man really tucks into the gory and very puke worthy nature of the type of horror that teens and twenty-somethings seem to gravitate towards.
I felt a bit nausiated after this. So, on the gross award he certainly takes the gold.
