Review of House of 1000 Corpses (2003) by Thomas P — 22 Dec 2010
Okay film from first-time director and rocker Rob Zombie. With an early 1970's feel and a tinge of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it turns out to be almost very original. While Texas Chainsaw has a harder edge, this one is worth a look, as is the follow-up, The Devil's Rejects.
Sid Haig gives a very good performance as sideshow museum owner Captain Spaulding. This is also veteran character actor Dennis Fimple's last film.
