Review of House of 1000 Corpses (2003) by Jordan R — 04 Oct 2015
There's not a lot of originality to this, but Zombie goes well out of his way to make it clear that this is a love-letter to horror classics.
Corny? Yes. Derivative? Most definitely. Reminiscent of a music video? Without a doubt.
Once viewers can get past the perception of this as the film as an earnest attempt at an original narrative, we can see that it's as much a genre-tribute as anything directed by Tarantino.
