Review of Hour of the Wolf (1968) by Austin S — 27 Jun 2008
Another fascinating and provocative film from the master Ingmar Bergman, this "horror" film has all the classic Bergman qualities--beautiful black and white cinematography, brilliant strokes of surrealism, and many Mozart references.
In "Hour of the Wolf" Bergman succeeds in deconstructing the horror film, much like Kubrick did after him with "The Shining".
