Review of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018) by Carlos T — 14 Aug 2018
As hard as Hotel Transylvania 3 tries to justify this wholly unnecessary new instalment of the franchise, the truth is that there is very little driving this forward. The film even takes place in a cruise ship as opposed to the titular hotel.
The characters may have individual charms but I could not help but find Adam Sandler?s Dracula overly cheesy and unlikeable. The story is pretty predictable but there are some nice visuals and a adequate soundtrack as well as a satisfying ending.
None of the qualities mentioned however redeems the film enough to be recommended for children let alone adults as the humour is so base that it is almost an insult to children?s intelligence. Ultimately Hotel Transylvania 3 feels half baked and will leave some kids feeling just as bored as the adults.
