Review of Hotel Transylvania (2012) by Ray H — 12 Oct 2013

My first impressions of this movie was indeed a good one, the cute characters and some witty comments was enough to keep it interesting without requiring the viewer to think too much about what he/she is seeing.

However, the hype about this movie and the way it was advertised made it out to be an extremely witty 'not your average kids movie' type deal and frankly, I was disappointed. The storyline was lacking, it had so much more potential, it had a great setting and some great characters with great backgrounds but in the end they went with the typical, boy meets girl, boy can't have girl, boy gets girl anyway story which has been done a thousand times before.

Yes, it is a kids film and its merits are the types of things kids like in films, good animation, simple jokes and a simple storyline, so I suppose its done what it set out to do, make a movie for kids, however, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone without children as I personally don't think it would appeal to anyone but children.
