Review of Hotel Transylvania (2012) by Franz H — 04 Oct 2015

I couldn't help thinking that this is a direct ripoff of Despicable Me, which was released 2 years earlier. But it wasn't nearly as good. Dracula seemed like an attempt to ripoff the character of Gru exactly.

In any case I just didn't like this movie very much, compared to Despicable Me, which I loved. This was geared more towards young kids. Which became obvious in the starting few minutes where they ticked off the obligatory pooping, peeing, and farting jokes.

Geez. And personally, I just didn't enjoy all of the creepy monsters. They weren't cute and lovable, they were just creepy. I suppose if you're 8 years old this might be an awesome movie, but for me it was a bad attempt to duplicate the success of Despicable Me.
