Gorgeous animation, but not much else. Hotel Transylvania 2 feels like what it is, a cash in to a popular movie. I don't even remember the first one being that great, so this was made purely for monetary purposes more than story progression.
I liked most of the jokes, but sometimes they played it too safe. (the werewolf scene was great, the lullabies got old quick) The antagonist was only introduced 20 minutes to the end, so everything felt kind of rushed, and sometimes the movie feels phony with the pop culture references like selfies and popular songs.
The cut away jokes were also very lame. Its entertaining and I loved the little vampire references, but this sequel isn't anything more than just a diversion, albeit a gorgeously animated one.
