Review of Hotel Rwanda (2004) by Andrew C — 19 Oct 2009
The horrific subject matter (the Rwandan genocide of the mid 90's), is given a softer edge by focusing on the viewpoint of the main character and his family. Not that there isn't enough brutality left over to leave the film with plenty of credibility.
In fact, it's the balance between these extremes that makes it so worthwhile.
