Review of Hotel Rwanda (2004) by Ricky G — 03 Mar 2012
Bigotry and hatred among race relations is a sometimes scary and universal struggle in all humanity. Our own purgatory of slavery, USSR and it's treatment of its people during communism, Germany and Hitler.
This mass murdering genocidal thinking is unfortunately a bitter taste left in many countries mouths. This movie is beautiful in its depiction of what humanity is still capable of despite all the wickedness occurring in our world.
Humans can grow and adapt and become better people, and this film depicts that. It's hard to watch the bitterness and inequality in the film, but it should be. Companionship is something we should extend, and many countries and people did nothing while Africa underwent lunacy among its people.
It's disgusting, but the only out me you can hope for is stronger and more compassionate and empathetic individuals. Not hatred or grudges.
