Review of Hotel du Lac (1986) by Daniela B — 17 Aug 2011
Made in the 80s and looks it all the way - but that was not the problem. The problem was the story in itself, maybe just the way it was "told", the dialogues were utterly uninteresting, the acting was not so good on occasions, there was not even one character that was likeable, not even the main character.
.. the story was boring, even stupid at times, although at some point it seemed ok... quite surprising for the adaptation of a Booker-winning novel and a BAFTA-winning production!
