Review of Hotel Chevalier (2007) by Andy W — 16 Jan 2009
Again, more proof that Wes Anderson is a short story author in a filmmaker's body. This short prologue to THE DARJEELING LIMITED is elegantly shot and well acted, but I was left wondering what the point was.
Sure, it sets up Schwartzman's character and some of his quirks for the feature film to come, but outside of that it feels like an exercise, reeking of pointlessness.
