Review of Hotel Artemis (2018) by Jeremy G — 08 Jun 2018

Maybe my favorite movie this year, which is saying a lot given that Infinity War left me speechless.

This film outperformed my every expectation going in. The plot plays out like a wild game of Fiasco, every plot twist having a clear calling moment to look back on and see how it came to be. Nothing came off as a coincidence to move the plot along.

The acting was well done by all parties, with Bautista highlighting with an act that's more Drax than anything else. The characters actions make sense as the plot continues to escalate throughout the movie, and nothing felt out of character.

The level of escalation reminded me a lot of Get Out, where everything built to a wild frenzy of a conclusion, and a fairly satisfying one at that.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Artemis, and hope more people do as well.
