Review of Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015) by Kelly H — 04 Mar 2015

I went in thinking "low brow, buddy comedy, silly, toilet humor, let's do this". How it could actually achieve well below that bar is beyond me. I loved the first movie and I love the actors.

The three returning actors are true to their characters, but not given much to work with. I only laughed once that I recall. It's pretty ominous when the trailer has been deftly edited to seem funny and promising, when in fact many of the jokes in the trailer are not in the film at all, or appear in the last few minutes.

My date fell asleep. In a comedy. At 8 pm. I didn't even bother to wake her.
