This was a real letdown. I found the first movie a decent comedy experience, whereas this just did not work. One thing that I missed was the pop culture references of the first, which of course could not exist as the characters travel to the future. John Cusack was funny in the first film, and I feel the film suffers from his absence.
It got nominated for the Razzie for Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel, and deservedly so.
