Review of Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015) by Zach M — 14 Nov 2015

I didn't expect much going into the first Hot Tub Time Machine and was surprised that I managed to chuckle. I expected even less from this sequel which may be why I ended up actually enjoying the damn thing.

This is such a bad movie and even some of the jokes, could have been much much better, but at the same time, I laughed. And most comedies do not manage to make me laugh. Maybe I was really tired, but the insane potty humour in this film just somehow worked for me. There were moments of absurdity that tried to push the boundries a little bit more and they totally worked on me. As long as you go into this film with the knowledge that it's just totally ridiculous, it might just work for you too. Taken at all seriously, or judged upon acting, story, etc. and this sequel just falls down into the muddy depths of the many vomit, semen, etc. jokes that it is filled with. Don't be surprised if you leave this film feeling a little dirty yourself and need to take a bath in your own tub.
