Review of Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993) by James S — 23 Oct 2009
A movie that did not quite have the same punch as the first Hot Shots movie. A new subject to be certain, so it was not your typical sequal. Nevertheless, it did fall a bit short. It had many comments on items of the day, and the satire was biting in some places.
Still, some of the jokes fell flat, and when that happens in the later Kentucky Fried Theater productions (although the whole theater was not in tact), it can slow the momentum of the film. Still...what worked worked well.
Well cast and well delivered...even an aging Lloyd Bridges pulled off his action part. Still fun and enjoyable, and that's all that really matters.
