Review of Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993) by Ryan P — 20 Oct 2012
Topper Harley (Charlie Sheen) returns when his commander is kidnapped by "Saddam Hussein". Naturally, this plot point is a flimsy pretext for goofy sight gags, dumb puns, lowbrow humor, and other hallmarks of spoof movies like Airplane! and The Naked Gun.
While I didn't really care for the first Hot Shots movie, this Rambo-riffing sequel made me laugh more often than not. I'm not proud of myself for chuckling at some of this jokes, but they got me all the same.
If nothing else, Hot Shots Part Deux is the best movie I've seen that features a man using a military-grade bow to fire a live chicken at a terrorist's chest.
