Review of Hot Rod (2007) by Henri J — 19 Feb 2013

Now I'm not positive, but I am almost positive that this film is making fun all heart warming sports goal achieving movies. And if that is the case the film kind of does its job. The film does make fun of those type of movies and there are a few laughs in the film.

But the problem is that the jokes either somewhat hit or they don't hit at all and end up just looking sad and going on for too long. The first half of this film is absolutely terrible. I couldn't stand most of the beginning of the film and just wanted it to be over.

The second half did pick up and have a lot more laughs in it but still didn't feel like it delivered. I think the biggest problem however is that if feels like it is just one really long SNL sketch.

There are points in it that I thought that it was a video on youtube rather than a professional film. In the process of making fun of stereotypical sport movies, they end up making fun of themselves but laughing by themselves at the same time.
