Review of Hot Rod (1950) by Paul P — 28 Jun 2010
Knowingly and willingly stupid, there are some inspired moments here...
Overall though, this is more a stringing together of silly moments rather than a coherent film. It doesn't matter though as there are plenty of moments that make this worth watching. Samberg is ok, but he does begin to grate after a while. The supporting cast fare better.... Danny McBride does his thing and is a lot of fun and Ian McShane is clearly having a blast as is Will Arnett. Stealing scenes throughout though is Bill Hader. The guy brings the funny and his delivery is spot on.... Great work...
