The Lonely Island is without a doubt a great parody band. Hot Rod is actually pretty good as well. I might be a little biased on this because I really like the Lonely Island skits, but unlike most recent comedies I've watched, this was actually pretty funny and entertaining.
It reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite. Stupid at first, but is a real comedy gem at its core. Hot Rod is no exception as it's actually a solid comedy with funny characters and great humor. A nice pleasant surprise!
