Review of Hot Pursuit (2015) by Moya W — 04 Nov 2015
Hot Pursuit is not one of Witherspoon's better movies, it doesn't have the pure humour and entertainment that a lot of her other comedies that I actually enjoyed have (Legally Blonde, This Means War, Just Like Heaven, Pleasantville and Penelope) and it doesn't have the excitement or the emotions that a lot of her dramas and thrillers have (Walk the Line, Wild, Fear, Freeway and The Man in the Moon).
Instead I found this movie to be rather ridiculous. I know that Witherspoon can do a lot better both comedic-wise and credibility-wise. I didn't really believe in her as a police officer and I didn't really believe in her as a person. I felt that the story was rather bland and it just didn't really tell me anything.
I look forward to seeing Witherspoon in all her movies that are in development at the moment, they all seem to be genres that are better suited for her and therefore will have the ability to show her true talent. Because she has it.
