Review of Hot Fuzz (2007) by Calvin C — 02 Oct 2013
The second flavor to come out of the mind of Edgar Wright, this entry in the Cornetto trilogy (starts with Shaun of the Dead, ends with this year's The World's End) is rife with serious laughs and enough explosions to warrant this as another instantly rewatchable classic.
Just as 'SotD' turned up the gore and scares while also managing to give the characters heart and brains, Hot Fuzz gives us a screwed-up-yet-hilarious take on the buddy cop genre, with plenty of action on the side.
Hilarious scenarios lead to some outrageously big firefights, and luckily, the FX and demolitions teams on this movie get to flex their pyromaniacal muscles. 5/5 Seriously, I will fight anyone who doesn't like this movie.
It's damn near perfect!
